The EG4 BOSSBox is a self-contained, weather-resistant energy storage enclosure that is DIY friendly and easy to install. It is ideal in areas where wall-mounted batteries are impractical due to limited or unavailable wall space. The bottom is palletized, enabling easy relocation of a ready-to-use, fully loaded power system.
Measuring close to the size of an average generator and slightly larger than a conventional air conditioning unit, the BOSSBox is ideal for whole-home backup, off-grid solutions, construction, and light commercial applications.
EG4 BOSSBox is a freestanding epoxy-coated Q235 steel enclosure. The cabinet is designed to house threeĀ EG4 WallMount All Weather 280Ah batteriesĀ on the interior and accommodate up to twoĀ EG4 Hybrid InvertersĀ (such as the 12kPV, 18kPV, FlexBOSS18, or FlexBOSS21) in any combination to be mounted on the exterior of the box.
When fully loaded, the BOSSBox can act as a ready-to-use deployable power solution for construction sites, off-grid projects, and even disaster relief applications. It does not require fuel to operate, and is far quieter than a generator. As a long-term power solution, it can be grid-tied for whole-home battery back-up or tied to a solar system for full-time power generation.
The BOSSBox was engineered with a plug-and-play design to remove some of the complexities of power installation systems. No drilling, cutting, or wall-mounts are required. The BOSSBox is especially useful when cutting into delicate surfaces, facades with low structural integrity, or other challenging surfaces.
Eg4 has designed the base similarly to a pallet and it has built-in anchoring brackets. The design enables forklift forks or equivalent equipment to transport the cabinet. The built-in brackets have 12 mm holes that will allow anchoring to concrete foundations or flat exterior terrain using the included M12 hardware or ā inch equivalent anchors.
The BOSSBox is a NEMA 3R enclosure. This means it will keep rain, falling dirt, and ice formation off theĀ EG4 Outdoor WallmountĀ BatteriesĀ installed within. The cabinet is also corrosion-resistant so it can be used near the ocean long term. Because EG4ās outdoor batteries are heated, the system can work unhindered at below-freezing conditions for months.
The durable steel construction is built to stand alone without supporting assemblies to maintain structural integrity. The BOSSBox is also designed with passive cooling with air intake vents at the front of the cabinet and heat vents all around the top. No fans are required. However, in hotter climates, a shade or covering is advised.
Anchor points are provided throughout to facilitate easy and intuitive cable management. The BOSSBox comes with oneĀ BOSSBox cable kit. If you are adding a second inverter or multiple batteries, you will need to purchase additional cables separately.
